Winemaker Notes The 2012 Reserve introduces boasts aromas of orange marmalade, peach cobbler, graham cracker, and toffee, which evolve into hints of apricot, marzipan, and honey. Enveloping flavors of cinnamon apple, warm baked pineapple, vanilla spice, and ginger lead into flavors of apricot cake, baked orange, candied strawberry, and almond with fresh length, bright acidity, and a zesty finish on the palate. Winemaker Notes Pol Roger, one of a few luxury Champagne firms still family-owned, was established in Epernay in 1849. Pol Roger owns 200 acres of vineyards, which provide about 45% of their needs. Pol Roger's cellars extend over four miles of winding chalk passageways on two levels. The second or deeper cellar maintains a constant 9.5º C (50º F), one degree lower than the first level and most others in the region. This lower temperature slows the second fermentation, encouraging a finer mousse or bubbles. Pol Roger Champagne also spends two to three times the allowable minimum in the cellar before disgorgement, or about three years for the non-vintage and up to seven for the luxury cuvées. The long, slow maturation contributes greatly to the complex aromas, which distinguish these superb Champagnes. The Brut Non Vintage blend is traditionally composed from about 30 to 35 still base wines, drawn from different vineyard sites, grape varieties and vintage years. It usually contains wines of at least two vintages, often three or four. Reserve wines compose between 20-30% of the traditional blend. The Brut NV is never sold until the youngest component is at least three years old, which gives it more character and body. Pale gold with a very fine bead; flowery, delicately toasty aroma with fruit and complexity; creamy, beautifully balanced with a dry, harmonious finish.

Winemaker Notes Réserve Brut is the result of a subtle marriage of three grape varieties. It is a blend of seven distinct years, together beautifully balanced, a perfect harmony of richness, fruitiness and freshness. A genuine expression of terroir, a tribute to the excellence and singularity of each year’s harvest. Marked by honeysuckle and a hint of vanilla on the nose with an elegant foam. Winemaker Notes A light golden color and fine, vivacious bubbles, holding a promise of pleasure. Aromas of flowers in bloom, ripe, dried and citrus fruits, as well as marzipan and gingerbread. Krug Grande Cuvée 169ème Édition lends itselfto a wealth of culinary combinations, from the simplest to the most sophisticated, from an aged parmesan to turbot à la truffe.

Winemaker Notes The delicate nose unfolds in swaths of color. The green of eucalyptus, mint and vetiver, the yellow-orange of mirabelle plums, apricot and orange blossom, the brown of pepper, cardamom and licorice sticks, and finally silvery saline and toasty hues. Winemaker Notes A vibrant and approachable California Cuvée opens with a pop of tart pineapple and orange blossom on the wonderfully aromatic nose. The ideal balance of Mountain and Valley Floor Estates, this wine delivers beautiful, full fruit retention, enhanced by the complexity we have come to expect by integrating structured fruit from our mountain vineyards. Iron Corral Cabernet is complex yet accessible, designed for immediate enjoyment with the capability to age gracefully and be savored for years to come.

Despite the shy crop 2015 produced wines of power and richness. Our Brandlin Cabernet is brimming with notes of Black Currants, violets, rose petals, black cherry and a hint of camphor and tar. A blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Malbec and 4% Cabernet Franc, the wine is plush and round on the palate with fine Mountain tannins and a long, satiny finish.

For the 2014 Palengat, we focused on grapes grown only in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, from the Champoux, Palengat, Lake Wallula, and Wallula vineyards. We did return to the past by shifting this bottling’s focus from Merlot to Cabernet Sauvignon, with a blend of 73 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 18 percent Merlot, and 9 percent Cabernet Franc. The results were fantastic. The mouth-feel is lush and the wine has been approachable since release but has continued to impress as it matured. Cabernet Sauvignon adds a touch of brawn to the mix, but fits beautifully into the finished wine. It shows off violet, infused plum, and crème de cassis fruit and exciting accents of five-spice powder, black truffles, vanilla, and minerals. The 21 months it spent in new French barrels helped the different vineyard components meld together and evolve an extraordinary way.

Aromas of mixed berry, chocolate, light earth and licorice. A thick entry, with mixed berry flavors, lush and structured midpalate with great backbone of coating, ageable tannin. Full and mouthwatering with flavors of plum, blackberry all the way through to the end. Layers of toasted sweet oak are well integrated, adding structure and support to the ripe fruit flavors.

Opaque and concentrated at first glance, this wine is dense and rather forthcoming with aromas of cassis, blackberries and a sense of juiciness one can almost smell. All this concentrated fruit is wrapped in a veritable “pie crust” of fine and exotic aromas derived from new French oak barrels such as cedar, chocolate, mulling spices and sandalwood. The textural harmonies pull at your palate with sweet, ultra-ripe fruit, while notable tannins provide the supporting structure to all this opulence. While wines of this style are traditionally aged many years, it would be a shame not to enjoy this wonderfully ripe, young wine in the near term before putting some away for the long haul. Blend: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 2% Petite Verdot

Winemaker Notes The 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with bountiful aromas of ripe blackberry, black cherry, raspberry compote with light notes of vanilla, anise and coffee beans. Integrated tannins anchor the wine’s palate, carrying flavors of dense blueberry and dark chocolate, with hints of vanilla and white pepper, leading to a youthful finish.

Winemaker Notes On the palate, the 2016 La Jota Cabernet Sauvignon has blackberry, rosemary, subtle Asian spice, and a hint of Petit Verdot that rounds out the flavors. With a great mid palate weight and earthy tannic structure, there is no doubt you are drinking a Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaker Notes Intense aromas of dark berries with hints of violets and fine roasted oak fill the nose. The sturdy framework and intensely expressive red and black fruits give great power and length to the finish. Two hours of decanting is recommended before drinking; 2009 is a perfect vintage for collectors.

Winemaker Notes Captivating and complex, the 2012 Rubicon boasts very pronounced dark fruit with aromas of currants, black cherries, blackberries, cinnamon, floral notes and the freshness of thyme and other sweet herbs. The palate shows great volume and nicely integrated flavors, fine grained tannins and subtle oak that works beautifully with the fruit. There is softness and delicacy with layered complexity that is constantly evolving. The finish is long and expressive.

Winemaker Notes #9 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2022 As this slowly begins to unwind in the glass it releases gorgeous aromas of blackberries, dark plums and Creme de cassis that are accented by graphite, violets, herbs, sweet spices and mocha which all take shape beautifully. The palate is full-bodied, concentrated and incredibly fresh, with a round polished texture and a dense layered core of ripe dark fruits that expands seamlessly into the lavish finish. While the 2018 is already stunning to drink in its youth, it should ultimately go on to have a brilliant future ahead and evolve gracefully for at least two decades

Papillon fills the glass with an unmistakable dark crimson, a flash of neon purple and a ruby rim. Winemaker Notes This wine has fresh and vibrant aromas of sliced green apple, white peach, and honeysuckle with integrated notes of baked apple and puff pastry on the palate. It is round, layered, and complex with a refreshing acidity that leads to a full and lengthy finish.

Winemaker Notes La Chevaliere Chardonnay is a clear pale straw color. Strong citrusy aromas on the nose, with yellow-fruit richness. Bright flavors of ripe fruit; good balance and aromatic finish. La Chevaliere, or "the knight's lady," is a reference to "Mas La Chevaliere" which is literally the "farmhouse of the knight's lady," the Laroche winery in southern France where this wine is produced.

The 2021 Chadonnay hails from Napa’s southernmost AVAs, where wind and fog contribute to much cooler growing conditions. Lemon peel and green apple mingle with sea salt, beeswax, and linden flower. Bosc pear, fines herbes, and cheese rind dance on the textured yet vibrant palate. The wine balances richness, tension, and energy through to the finish in a California nouveau style.

Well structured and nicely concentrated, this outstanding medium-bodied wine accents its core of focused red-cherry flavors with subtle ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg that add attractive complexity and interest. Made with 30% whole clusters in the fermenting vat and aged in 38% new French barrels, it should be best from 2025.

2022 EnRoute Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, "Les Pommiers" Blended from three of the most coveted vineyards in the Russian River Valley, the 2022 vintage was marked by near-perfect weather conditions. The resulting wine is generous yet soft, with notes of strawberry preserves and fresh rain on the forest floor.

Demonstrative of its terroir, this wine displays richly with refined Asian pear, wet stone and slight oak flavors, creating a powerful yet ethereal impression after its lengthy and dry finish.

If you're a lover of big, dark, intense Pinot Noir, this Mercurey isn't to be missed! The Côte Chalonnaise village of Mercurey is home to a cadre of superb winegrowers making hearty, gutsy Pinot Noir without sacrificing structure or detail, and none of these growers is on a better roll than Gouffier. We often use wines such as this to "convert" aficionados of California Pinot Noir, as there's plenty of rich, spiced cherry intensity and a judicious kiss of oak. Organic.

Winemaker Notes Fine lace and silk are the words most often associated with this wine. Bright, intense colour and complex aromas evoking violet, black cherry and damp earth. According to the vintages, there are also notes of truffle and game. Refined tannins coat the palate. Good balance between texture and acidity. Long aftertaste, with notes of cherry and candied fruit.

Winemaker Notes Serious minerality, with earthy stone and plum notes. Dusty tannins and a long evolution in the glass that keeps you studying.

The 2021 Morgon Cuvée Corcelette comes from vines averaging 50-years in age, this vineyard suffering less reduction in volume than others due to the sandy soils. It is aged in used barrels for around 9 months. It has a quite compelling and complex bouquet, with raspberry and wild strawberry, rose petal and light chalky scents. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, finely chiseled and lending tension. The acidity keeps this taut, focused, and quite minerally towards the leaner-than-usual finish. There's moderate length with fine salinity. Bon vin.

Winemaker Notes Foillard's Morgon Eponym comes from the Charmes lieu-dit, one of the highest parcels in the appellation. In contrast to the grandiose, deeply structured Côte du Py and silky-smooth Corcelette, this cuvée features a bit more crunch with lots of bright acidity and a leaner, more mineral profile. It nonetheless shares the satin texture of all Foillard Morgons, and should age similarly well for those willing and able to wait.

TOP VALUE & UNDER THE RADAR The new generation arrived in 2010 with the arrival of David & Arnaud, following on from their father/grand-father. Roland first bottled his own wines in 1979 and the domaine has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Vauprin is a special selection on the hill of Vauprin, situated close to Lignorelles. Vines range from 20-80 years old and the parcel is 1.8ha in size. This AP Chablis is notable for the confident way in which oak is used (up to 50%, ranging from new to five-year-old). Lovely density on the palate allied to purity of fruit. Here, the oak really does add a lot of complexity but the Chablis character is still evident underneath. A very fine Chablis.

This vintage from Jean Paul and Charly Thévenet tastes classic, earthy and old-school, It excels in the role of the quintessential, naturally made Morgon of dreams.

The palate opens with a focused surge of Key lime, guava, and a hint of river rock minerality. Bright, concentrated citrus and tropical fruit flavors glide through the supple, layered mid palate, continuing laser sharp through the crisp finish, an echo of citrus meringue ringing on.
